I didn’t dream but instead woke up at midnight in sleep paralysis. At the corner of the room my sleep paralysis demon slowly creeped in. He is a tall, lanky and hazy purple outline of a man, and when he got to me, he extended his finger to shut my eyelids one by one, before I had the worst nightmare of my life. The nightmare had a giant version of the demon, or what I now call the mystery man, eat everyone I ever cared about.
Dreams about sleep paralysis and encountering sinister figures like demons are often associated with feelings of powerlessness, fear, anxiety, and stress in your waking life. In this dream, the tall, lanky, hazy purple man serves as a symbol of your fears and perhaps unresolved emotions that you may be facing.
The fact that the figure shut your eyelids one by one can suggest a sense of being forced to confront something unpleasant or repressed. The nightmare where the giant demon consumed everyone you care about could be a manifestation of your deep-seated fears of loss, abandonment, or being unable to protect your loved ones.
This dream may be a reflection of your subconscious grappling with feelings of helplessness, vulnerability, or a lack of control in certain aspects of your life. It could also be a sign that you may be dealing with overwhelming stress or anxiety that is seeping into your subconscious mind.
It may be beneficial to reflect on any current challenges or anxieties you are facing in your waking life and consider ways to address and cope with these issues. Seeking support from loved ones, a therapist, or practicing relaxation techniques may help alleviate these feelings of fear and powerlessness that are manifesting in your dreams.
